An important late 17th century brass bound ebonised strongbox on a carved giltwood stand. The box richly decorated with scrolling brass strapwork and has a hinged lid and front, supported by lopers revealing an open interior with drawers and secret compartments. The stand with leaf carved edge and leaf carved frieze centred by a carved head with shell cresting, on four winged putti headed legs with volutes and fruit swags terminating in leaf carved bulbous feet
