A rare and important pair of early 18th century carved mahogany side tables attributed to Benjamin Goodison, the rectangular Breche Violette marble tops above a Vitruvian  scrolled carved frieze, on scrolled serpentine legs standing on block feet.
A similar table attributed to Benjamin Goodison in the Royal Collection at Hampton Court Palace is illustrated in The Dictionary of English Furniture, by Ralph Edwards, revised edition, vol. III, page 282, fig. 26. Benjamin Goodison (c. 1700-1767) succeeded James Moore as Cabinet-maker to the Crown in 1726-7
