An extremely rare and beautifully painted ormolu mounted enamel rectangular tea casket decorated with pastoral scenes against a soft pink ground,  the lid centred by a finely chased rococo handle, the brown velvet lined interior fitted with three small boxes opening to reveal a rectangular sugar box flanked by twin cannisters with circular lids all with conforming decorated on the tops and sides.
An almost identical pink ground enamel tea caddy  was formerly in the distinguished collection of Hon. Mrs Basil Ionides, recorded by T. & B. Hughes in 'English Painted Enamels', London, 1967,  p.138  no.73. a further example is illustrated by Yvonne Hackenbroch, in the 'Catalogue of the Untermeyer Collection',  fig 336.
