A PAIR OF GEORGE I CARVED AND GILT GESSO PIER GLASSES

An important and extremely rare pair of early 18th century carved and gilt gesso pier glasses with mainly original gilding and original divided bevelled mirror plates within a channelled and gadrooned border frame punctuated with stylized flower heads, and having elaborately shaped arched cresting centred by plumed grotesque masks within a background of arabesques.

Note: This pair of mirrors is preserved in outstanding condition and retains beautiful original plates.
