Ronald Phillips is delighted to announce ‘Tripod Tables of the 18th Century’ an in house exhibition that will run concurrently with Masterpiece. The collection for the exhibition contains some of the most exquisite tripods from the period; ranging from 1720-1775. Tripod tables –have long been among the most desired and decorative pieces of antique English furniture. Their versatility, elegance and practicality have given them pride of place in today’s home. To accompany the exhibition, Ronald Phillips has created a specialist book with an introduction of the history of the tripod table, which includes stunning images and fascinating information about the techniques and time in which the tripods were created.
Commenting on the creation of the exhibition and accompanying catalogue, Simon Phillips said, “For a long time I have wanted to produce a book solely on tripod tables, especially as – so far as I know- there is no other book available on the subject. At present we have a large selection of interesting tripod tables in stock, providing the perfect opportunity to bring this exhibition together. It will be very exciting to see all of the tripods under one roof. Above all it offers a fine selection of what is probably the most popular, functional and saleable piece of furniture today.”
